Owner, Clinical Supervisor

Rachel Markus, LCSW-C

Rachel Markus, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker from Baltimore, Maryland who has worked in the mental health and substance abuse fields since 2010.  She has served as a primary therapist and clinical director in substance abuse treatment centers, and has also been in private practice for 6 years. She is trained in EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and also uses person-centered and motivational interviewing approaches to work with adult and adolescent clients struggling with addictions, codependency, trauma, anxiety, depression, and family of origin issues. She is currently supervising all the clinicians at RL Counseling Group and really enjoys offering support to other passionate mental health providers. Rachel has her own story of healing and recovery from substance abuse and has been sober since 2008.  She is an active part of the recovery community and is passionate about giving hope to those still suffering. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her wife Liz, their children, and their dogs, as well as doing Crossfit.

Practice Manager

Susan Reigner

Susan Reigner is the outstanding Practice Manager for RL Counseling Group.  She handles administrative tasks, communication with referral sources, and all client scheduling for the practice. Susan brings a passion for helping others along with years of customer service experience. Susan has 3 adult children and a sweet dog named Crosby. She is enthusiastic about working in a position to help support clients as they navigate their healing journeys.

Medical Director

Julie Twigg

Julie Twigg, CRNP-PMH is a board-certified nurse practitioner, specializing in medication management of psychiatric and mental health care. For over a decade, she has been treating patients in outpatient, private practice, and inpatient psychiatric settings for a variety of conditions.  For several years, her career extended overseas to care for deployed military personnel and veterans with mood disorders, anxiety, and PTSD.  In addition to medication management, Julie utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify, alter and reduce distressing thoughts. Using successful treatment approaches she has developed and refined, Julie works together with patients to develop a treatment plan to meet their goals leading toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Jen Evans, LGPC

Jennifer graduated from Towson University with a Masters in Counseling Psychology. She has 17 years of counseling experience, including 14 years working in the Carroll County School System where she provided individual, group and family counseling. She has also worked with adults in Baltimore City and hospitalized adults in HCGH. Jen is also a Red Cross Volunteer counselor on the Disaster Mental Health Team.

William Silberstein, LMSW

William Silberstein, LMSW (he/him) is a mental health therapist in Gaithersburg, MD. Will received his Master of Social Work from Baylor University in 2021. Will works with adults with substance misuse issues, anxiety-based disorders, depressive disorders, trauma and dissociative disorders, and personality disorders. He offers supportive therapy using an eclectic approach, based heavily on cognitive behavioral therapy, (CBT) dialectical behavioral therapy, (DBT) trauma-informed care, EMDR, and narrative therapy. In using this base of understanding, Will’s goal is to help clients identify and meet their own mental health needs, through validation of clients’ perspectives, metacognition, and problem-solving coping skills. Undergirding this approach is Will’s belief that everyone should be treated with dignity, listened to, and acknowledged as a valuable part of their communities.

Kena Morrow, LMSW

Kena has a passion to see other achieve their goals. Kena graduated from Howard University with a Masters in Social Work.  She has experience working with individuals that struggle with anxiety and depression and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy. In her spare time, Kena enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Diana Gayle, LGPC

Diana Gayle received her master's degree in clinical mental health therapy from Capella University and her undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland with over 10 years of experience providing mental health and counseling services in both community and medical settings. This includes six years of experience providing crisis intervention services, three years as a behavioral therapy specialist, and two years providing mental health services to disabled and developmentally challenged individuals. Prior to her licensure experience, she worked on multidisciplinary teams involving the education and social services system. A native Jamaican she has worked with culturally diverse populations in substance abuse and addressing developmental disorders such as autism and is proficient in applying behavior-based interventions, as well as person-centered Psychodynamic, EMDR, CBT, and motivational interviewing treatments, DBT, and trauma-based interventions for adults. She is a passionate practitioner dedicated to the work of healing and recovery.

Daniel Lozoya, LMSW

Daniel is a bilingual clinician fluent in both Spanish and English, bringing nearly 12 years of dedicated experience in mental health care. As a trained EMDR therapist, he specializes in trauma focused care, helping clients navigate their healing journeys with compassion and expertise.

Daniel incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and acceptance and commitment therapy. This integrative approach empowers clients to enhance their well-being and achieve their personal goals.


Believing in a client-centered and strengths-based approach, Daniel provides a safe, non-judgmental environment where individuals aged 6 and older can explore their thoughts and feelings. He is passionate about fostering resilience and helping clients thrive.


Outside of his practice, Daniel values family time and enjoys reading, hiking, and meditation. He stays active through cooking and various forms of physical exercise, which he believes contribute to overall wellness and balance

Stacey Sullivan-Testa, LGPC, CAC-AD

Are you ready to begin your journey towards wellness and healing? Stacey believes that the start of healing begins with finding balance. Balance can be found through compassion, forgiveness, empathy, genuine joy, and exploring your innermost thoughts. Therapy is a safe space where she can help you to find harmony by providing support without judgment and bias. Stacey has worked with adults and adolescents in navigating life's challenges including depression, anxiety, addiction recovery, stress management, and more.

Stacey uses an eclectic approach to counseling rooted in a cognitive behavioral therapy framework; individualizing treatment based on the needs of each person. She utilizes motivational interviewing, person-centered counseling, narrative therapy, and a strengths-based approach to help every person feel strong, adaptive, and resilient.

Liz Markus

Liz Markus is the co-owner of RL Counseling Group.  Liz has a background in human resources and billing, and handles the overall operations of the practice including training, payroll, billing, and outreach.  She enjoys spending time with her wife Rachel, her children, Matthew, Izana and Aven, and their 2 dogs.  In her spare time, she also enjoys gardening and home decorating.  She loves traveling, especially to beaches and mountains in the Pacific Northwest. Liz is excited to be a part of this counseling practice and help support the clinical staff.

Alexandra Meyer

As an Operations Assistant, Alex has honed her skills in optimizing operational efficiency, elevating client experiences, and cultivating a culture of innovation. With a background in hospitality and human resources, she brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate leadership style to every endeavor, inspiring her team to reach new heights of success.
Hailing originally from Maryland, Alex has found her home in the majestic landscapes of Colorado for the past nine years. In her spare time, Alex finds joy in spending time with her husband, Scott, and their sweet Boston Terrier, Bunky. Whether exploring the great outdoors or brainstorming her next big adventure, she is always looking for new ways to experience the world.

Jzua Kurniawanto, LMSW

Jzua is a trauma-informed mental health therapist who works with diverse clients with various presentations. She creates a judgment-free environment for the client's journey towards healing and recovery. Her approach is person-centered and meets clients where they are. She believes everyone has an inner wisdom. Jzua is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II and uses various modalities such as CBT, ACT, CFT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Sand Tray, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Somatic Experiencing. Jzua enjoys activities in nature and spending time with loved ones, including her four pets.

Dominique Rigney, LCPC

Dominique Rigney is a licensed clinical professional counselor and has been working in the mental health field for over 8 years. She has experience working with children, teens, and adults who have faced various life stressors and challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief, relationship issues, and more.  As your therapist, she will walk beside you in your journey. Dominique will consistently work to meet you "where you are at" and help you to utilize your own strengths in your process of healing. She uses various approaches including person-centered therapies, cognitive-behavioral therapies, mindfulness, and positive psychology. She believes we each possess the ability to grow, heal, and change in a positive manner and she looks forward to meeting you and walking alongside you in your journey.

Kristin Hood, LMSW

Kristin Hood, LMSW, is a licensed master social worker and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Kristin knows it takes courage and honesty to reach out for help, and that the results can be life changing. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy, and helps to foster this by bringing non-judgmental curiosity, empathy, warmth, and sometimes humor into sessions. She has completed Phase I and II training in Brainspotting, which is a modality that can help people process more quickly and effectively than talk therapy alone. She also draws from humanistic, mindfulness, parts, and body-based therapies. Kristin has a special interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, addiction, OCD, anxiety, depression, and spiritual issues.

Kat Howser, LMSW

Kat Howser, LMSW, is a licensed master social worker and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Through building a relationship based on trust, Kat hopes to provide a safe and supportive environment for growth and exploration. Kat knows that pain can be invisible and sometimes it’s hard to know even where to begin. Kat will help clients explore real mental health problems in a curious and lighthearted way. Clients will get to know themselves and have fun doing it. Kat feels strongly about providing emotion validation, reflective listening and values honesty the most. Kat cares about each and every client and strives to be a person that others feel safe and comfortable with as they allow themselves to be vulnerable.

Christina Kuehne, LMSW

Christina graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore with a Masters in Social Work and specializes in addiction. She takes a strengths-based and solution focused approach when working with clients with mood disorders, addiction, codependency and trauma. She takes a holistic approach to healing through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and meditation. She believes in creating a safe space where individuals can learn to become the best version of themselves while embracing their healing journey.

Vince Torrente, LMSW

Vince Torrente, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker who is deeply committed to guiding individuals, couples, and families towards holistic well-being. Grounded in humanistic principles, he believes in creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their inner resources and cultivate their innate potential for growth. With a foundation in mindfulness and positive psychology, he empowers clients to embrace the present moment with acceptance and compassion, fostering a deeper connection to themselves and others.

 

He is a graduate of The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work where he received his Master of Social Work with a clinical concentration. Before UMB, Vince attended University of Maryland, Global Campus where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Vince has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples with multiple issues including behavioral problems, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and PTSD.

 

At the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, he interned within the Mental Health department working with veterans in groups, individually, and as couples. Vince is also comfortable working with all ages of adults with a variety of issues. Additionally, Vince interned at a Baltimore City Elementary/Middle School, where he worked with children ages 7-13, and their families.

 

Outside of the therapy room, Vince cherishes time with my family, including his spouse, children, and their two cats, enjoying bike rides, exercising, drawing, reading, concert-going, and soaking up the sun in beautiful Columbia, MD.

Sherron Brown, LCPC

Sherron Brown, LCPC, is a mental health counselor and has worked with children, adults, families, and groups for over 15 years. She is passionate about helping others learn and grow from past and current experiences. She has worked with individuals who have faced challenges with addiction, mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, codependency, trauma, grief/loss, relationship/family issues, and LGBTQ issues.  Sherron utilizes several different modalities depending on the client’s wants and needs. She is experienced in using person-centered therapy, CBT, ACT, MI, Faith-based therapy, and strength-based therapy. Outside of counseling Sherron also enjoys spending time with her family, reading, writing, taking walks, and watching movies/documentaries.
