Rachel Markus

Rachel Markus, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker from Baltimore, Maryland who has worked in the mental health and substance abuse fields since 2010.  She has served as a primary therapist and clinical director in mental health and substance abuse treatment centers, and has also been in private practice for 10 years.

She is trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic & psychodrama approaches. She uses person-centered and motivational interviewing approaches to work with adult and adolescent clients struggling with addictions, codependency, trauma, anxiety, depression, and family of origin issues. She oversees the clinical operations at RL Counseling Group and really enjoys offering support to other mental health providers.

Rachel has her own story of healing and recovery from substance abuse and has been sober since 2008.  She is an active part of the recovery community and is passionate about giving hope to those still suffering. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her wife Liz, their 2 children, and their dogs, as well as doing Crossfit.

Fun Facts:

• She was the mixed doubles badminton champion in Baltimore County in 12th grade.

• She has officiated 5 weddings.

• She has a goal every year to wear flip flops every day from April 1st to October 31st.
